Athens Woods Estates (AWE) is a senior living community with 20 independent living apartments in Stratford, Iowa. We are centrally located near Boone, Webster City, Fort Dodge and Ames.
Apartment amenities include all kitchen appliances, stackable washer/dryer units and ADA accessible showers. Large living rooms with access to either a balcony or patio area have views looking out to our beautiful flower gardens. Heated garages and additional interior storage are also available to residents.

Contemplation Gardens
Contemplation Gardens is a handicap accessible serene garden located right next to the building that allows the residents to enjoy nature’s beauty. This area is overflowing with mature trees, beautiful flower gardens, koi ponds, several seating areas and a greenhouse.
The name Contemplation Gardens references the 50 plants mentioned in the Bible. The setting helps a person strengthen their spiritual beliefs. Mother Nature is an important part of physical and mental health. The entire garden – plants, structures, trees -have been provided as gifts from residents and friendly area companies.
